Tyneside East Timor Solidarity and friends raised money in various ways to get water to Mehara; a sponsored walk recreating conditions villagers had to face to get even unpurified water, musical fund raisers, donations and a grant from Social Funding for Change.

Money raised was transferred to Narciso, who bought pipes etc, the people of Mehara worked on the water project, thus making it a community to community project, no NGO's, aid workers or paid workers were involved, - all money raised went directly into the project.
